HELLO, I AM KRYTEN VLUG

For all of memory people have been saying that the end times are right around the corner, looming because of all the horrible things that we as a community, as a society, as a species have done. In the age of the internet with ideas going viral able to spread so easily with little to no fact checking behind it while we all devour it without thinking. I was sick of this, my inspiration being that I wanted to defy this, create something that would defy this rhetoric and bring just a little hope to the world, to the people. This project was my biggest undertaking pulling from all my experience from Arduinos and coding to physical building, repairing, disaster control, planning and getting in the experts. It all lead to this, a huge accomplishment for myself that helped me learn about myself and what I can do if I just push a little.  The message in this project was both a personal one and one for others to experience themselves, a message of hope, in belief of yourself that if you have a little hope that it can pull you to accomplish great things and change your future. This project was a mix of technology and nature, nurturing the plant to grow into being tough resilient and happy while molding the technology around it, the fiber optics bending around the plant guiding it and letting it grow while the wires and power snuck in below to quietly do its work without interruption, combining to create this exhibition with the mirrors including. You need to look at yourself and have a little hope, have a little belief that you are in control, you have freedom to make decisions that change yours and everyone's future for good or ill. The future doesn't have to be horrible, it could be amazing no one can know but we can hope and work for it.
